The English town of Egham is located within the area of Surrey within the southeastern part of England. The town of Egham is part of the commuter belt for London and it is located about twenty miles to the south west of the area of Central London that is located on the banks of the river Thames close to junction thirteen which is part of the M25 motorway.

The town of Egham has a population of about five thousand seven hundred and twenty four. The contiguous area that is known as Egham Hythe has a population of about six thousand three hundred and forty four.

The rural district of Egham was a local government district within the administrative county of Surrey and it remained so for twelve years until 1906 until it changed to be the urban district of Egham however this was ended in 1974. Since 1974 the town of Egham has been part of the borough of Runnymede that is located within surrey.

The town of Egham is surrounded by places such as Englefield Green, Virginia Water and also Staines. The area that is located between the area of Staines and Egham is known as Egham Hythe.

The town of Egham is home to big research centre that is part of the Procter and Gamble Company. The Innovation Centre of London is located within the town in the area that is known as Rusham Park. One of the main employers within the area is Procter and Gamble and they employ about five hundred and fifty people within their research centre.
