The town of Dudley is one of the largest towns within the area that is known as the West Midlands. The town of Dudley has a population of about one hundred and ninety four thousand. Dudley has been the administrative centre for the metropolitan borough of Dudley. Dudley is the second biggest town within the United Kingdom that does not have its own university. The town of Dudley forms part of the conurbation of the West Midlands and it is located within the southern part of Wolverhampton. The town of Dudley is the biggest town within the area that is known as the Black Country. For many years the town centre of Dudley was part of an exclave of Worcestershire and this completely surrounded the area that is known as Staffordshire.

The town of Dudley dates back to the medieval times and Dudley castle stands on the hill overlooking the town as it has done since the eleventh century. The town is mentioned within the Domesday Book. The present castle that is located on the site dates back to the thirteenth century and the castle provided the centre around which the town grew up. During the eighteenth and nineteenth century the town grew rapidly as an industrial town and this led to a dramatic growth of he population as well.

There are a vast number of places of interest within the town and the surrounding area. The places of interest include the living museum of the Black Country and also Dudley Zoo. The people that visit the museum are able to take a narrow boat trip from the adjacent canal through the Dudley Tunnel. The ruins of Dudley Castle are located within the grounds of the zoo and there is also an extended wooded ridge that runs to the north from the castle.

We hope you enjoy your stay in one of our cheap Dudley hotels, mid range or luxury Dudley hotels.
