Catalina is situated out on a point along the Far North coast of Scotland - we are the most northerly Automobile Association 'Selected' establishment on the British Mainland. We also have the honour to have been awarded a Rosette from the Consumers Association's Which? Good B & B Guide - one of only three in the whole of Scotland.

We have given the west side of Catalina entirely over to our two guests (maximum) with its own suite comprising of twin bedroom, private shower room, private lounge and private dining room - all contained behind its separate main door. Settle down with a book from the well-filled shelves, stay in all day if you like, we have no hard and fast rules - after all YOU are the one on holiday! Our policy is to give excellent value for money and give each guest individual attention With just the two of you there are no other guests to disturb you - there is nothing worse than being disturbed by other guests in rooms next door just as you are about to drop off to sleep!

We have experienced a very wide variety of overnight accommodation and have tried to incorporate the best of what we found: * Quietness for a good nights sleep * Access to hot drinks any time * Private toilet facilities on the same level, and above all * Fair prices for accommodation and meals. With our full three course meals you can choose from Scottish Venison in red wine sauce, Scottish Salmon, turkey in white wine sauce plus vegetarian and other dishes - all at only Ł9.00 (no advance notice required, decide the menu of arrival!).

As you may see by the map below we are situated halfway along the Far North coastline - between John O'Groats on the right (East) and Durness on the left (West). This makes Catalina an ideal base from where to explore the whole of the Far North. We take only two guests so the whole suite is yours. Winter in the Far North is spectacular, the nights are long and the days are short. Often we have the Northern Lights - turn the sofa towards the window, sit back, relax and enjoy the show! The roads will be empty - we have often travelled over a hundred miles without meeting another vehicle! Our aim is to make your stay as relaxed and friendly as possible. The Editor of WHICH?
