Broadstairs is located in Kent on the Isle of Thanet. It is situated approximately 122 kilometers east of London. It is well known as a popular seaside resort and is often considered to be a jewel in the crown of Thanet. The town takes its name from the expansive stairs that are carved into the nearby chalk cliff which lead to the shrine of St. Mary, dating back to the 12th century. Visitors will find the town is easy to access and offers a host of shops, restaurants and accommodations in Broadstairs as well as in the surrounding area.

Broadstairs is an English coastal town that is located on the Isle of Thanet within East Kent. The town is located about seventy-six miles east of London and the town is located between Ramsgate and Margate. The town of Broadstairs has a population of about twenty two thousand. This town is one of the many seaside resorts that are located on the Isle of Thanet and this area is commonly referred to as the Jewel in the Thanets Crown.

The town stretches from Poorhole Lane in the west to Kingsgate in the north and also to Dumpton in the South. The town of Broadstairs is located within the local district government area of Thanet. The town is made up of five different electoral wards that are St Peters, Beacon Road, Kingsgate, Viking and also Bradstowe. All of these wards consist of between eleven and fifty-six seats within the district council of Thanet.

The town of Broadstairs together with St Peters is twinned with the Wattignies area of France. These towns became twinned during the early part of the 1980's.

The town is located above a harbour and it has cliffs on either side of it. The town consists of seven bays that all have golden sand. The town of Broadstairs is actually changed very little over the last fifty years or so. Kingsgate Castle is located on the cliffs of Kingsgate Bay. Kingsgate castle was once the home for Lord Holland however it is now private residential apartments.

As this town is a seaside resort most of the economy is associated with tourism and there is a vast number of hotels, guesthouses and public houses.

We hope you enjoy your stay in one of our cheap Broadstairs hotels, mid range or luxury Broadstairs hotels.
