Sheriff House was formerly the village Constable's House. It has three sections, built in the 17th, 18th and 20th Centuries. The 1950's wing is attached to the main house and has a separate entrance at the rear. During the 1970's Sheriff House was a renowned hotel and restaurant, entertaining the likes of the Kind and Queen of Sweden. Ted Heath and Roger Moore, amongst other famous guests.
